Starting over.
Once again I take on the task of reviewing my life's doings via the net.
I got rid of my last blog because I'm an idiot... and it was a good blog too!! All over a dumb fantasy. Thank goodness I kept the old blog in a Word doc.
On a good front, I'm going to London tomorrow. Yippeeee!! My first trip to Europe. So I'm scurrying at work and preparing things at home so my venture across the pond is a stress free one. I've been in a real traveling mood lately, but it may be escapism. My emotions have been all over the place lately and I need some really good R&R.
The only thing that worries me about the trip is the money. The GBP kicks the USD like Pele on a soccer ball. With the exchange rate, I'll be paying double for everything. My wonderful mom has gifted me 100 pounds that costed her $190. But who knows how long that will last. I'm not even taking a cab to and from the airport, since a 15 mile ride @ 40 pounds ($71) is too steep. So it'll be me and the Underground for the duration of the trip. Luckily my hotel is about 40 mins to the airport via the "Tube" at less than 5 pounds (approx. $9).
Work is going good, but I swear these people can make a mountain out of a molehill. Another unnecessary dumb day. I'll cut the systems people some slack because that issue will better account the company's billed receivables. But the cash thing is just ridiculous. Where do they find the people to do that job?!?! Thank god for Jeanette or else that entire side would collapse. Either way, its more crap I gotta deal with. And I really dont want to deal with it on the day I'm leaving North America for the weekend.
Home improvements
About two weeks ago, I bought a scanner. Originally bought to put pics of me on dating sites, and to save old pics that I cant find the negatives, it'll actually come in handy for scanning some old documents as well. Hopefully my mom will come around to using it for all those doggone papers and articles she's got laying around. On Sunday, my mom got new blinds, although they're not properly installed. On Tuesday, we finally got our new couch that we ordered in August. Could a TV be next???
Cheerio!
