I Can't Escape the Rain

First Katrina, then last week's rainstorms, then rain in London and rain again here. What's going on???

Anyhoo, came back from London last night. Great trip. Too many details to get into, but things that I learned:

1. The famous london fog was actually smog. It was caused by the burning of coal, not the wet weather.

2. The Underground puts the MTA to shame. I never waited more than five minutes for a train, anywhere!! Even when they had "Engineering Maintenance" route changes on the weekend. Unbelievable.

3. Be careful crossing the street. You'll get killed over there. The driving is aggressive, but they're good at it and they even follow traffic signs.

4. They don't say "Your Welcome" after you say "Thank you". Interesting.

5. The food does suck. I had the fish n chips and it was very boring. But the indian food is good. I went to a place in a part of town called St. Katherine's Dock (which was very nice.. marina included)

6. I gotta take more international flights. The airline service is awesome.

On a brighter note, I got a promotion. Woohoo! I'm going to be a senior accountant and making $52K. I'm happy and so is mom. Finally I'll be able to get a nice place over my head. But I gotta pay off this trip and save more money.
